Synopsis for "The Freebooters"

Nightwing patrols Bludhaven at the break of dawn when he decides to check upon Dick Grayson's new apartment. He runs into the superintendent Bridget but Dick, yet again, can't see her face. He spends most of the day cleaning up his new apartment, he received a call from the phone company with whom he discussed matters about his identity and his non-existent documents and he also stopped a robbery from his apartment's window. Dick Grayson starts to think about the idea of being Bludhaven's protector.

At the Bludhaven's police department, Inspector Soames receives an e-mail. Nightwing wants to meet him at the Bludhaven's dump. Soames tells Nightwing about a possible move from Black Mask at the Zee Moores.

Nightwing checks upon that zone and finds a moneylender working on the place. When Nighwtwing breaks into the small container that the crook has adapted as an office he asks the man some questions which the man refuses to answer. Suddenly a chopper approaches the "office" and hooks the container lifting it up into the air with Nightwing and the moneylender inside. Nightwing manages to drop the moneylender out of the container before some False Facers descend from the chopper into the container. Nightwing faces once again the fox and his gang. All of them start to fight inside the container and that causes the chopper to lose altitude. The chopper pilots decide to drop the load before they crash into a building and the container falls on a building's rooftop. The false facers get out of the container before it collapses completely to the ground. Nightwing manages to jump out of the falling container and using a rope, he reaches the rooftop and knocks out all the false facers. Nightwing ties them and calls for the police and warns fox about Black Mask's possible retaliation.

Nightwing contacts Batman and Robin and tells them that he is still without a clue of those dead people that arrived at Gotham City's bay from Bludhaven. Batman offers to go and help Nightwing but he refuses the help and tells them that he is staying in Bludhaven because the city is full of violence, corruption and injustice and that he might like that city after all.
