Synopsis for Lt. Hunter's Hellcats: "Hunter's Hellcats"
During World War II, homicide detective Ben Hunter is drafted into the U.S. Army and is assigned to oversee a special commando force comprised entirely of criminals culled from the Army stockade. These men are not immediately receptive of Hunter's authority in which he winds up fighting one of their own, a towering musclebound man named Brute. Hunter defeats Brute and earning some respect from the men, and convincing them (including Brute) to join his squad. Hunter dubbed his squad "Hellcats" after a guard comment on them.
The Hellcats are sent on their first mission to infiltrate a Japanese-held island and destroy an airbase which is inside a mountain. Due to the men's unique specialties, the Hellcats manage to capture a tank. Hunter and Snake-Oil drives the tank and marching the rest of the Hellcats ahead of them as captured spies to fool the IJA guards to let them inside the base. Snake-Oil, who is fluent in Japanese and impersonate himself as Major Kito, easily tricks the guards in letting in the "prisoners". Once inside, Hunter gives the Hellcats their weapons from the tank and start firing. The squad head for the airbase's exit and plan to set the explosive charges to destroy the entrance while Hunter use the tank to hold off the Japanese.
A Japanese soldier manages to toss a grenade that disables the tank's treads, preventing Hunter from regrouping with the Hellcats. After the Hellcats plant the charges, Brute and a few others notice Hunter's situation and stay behind to save him; Brute mainly wanted to settle his score with Hunter. Once Hunter reach his men, he and the Hellcats jump out to the sea below moments before the charges detonated. The squad are soon pick up by US Navy ships.
