Ravan is a member of the Jihad and an enemy of the Suicide Squad for many years, before later joining them. He is also a Thuggee assassin who worships Kali, the Indian goddess of death. He was killed by Kobra during a fight, but was later reanimated as a zombie when his old Jihad teammate Koschei the Deathless returns to take revenge on the Squad. During the Blackest Night, Ravan becomes a member of the Black Lantern Corps.
Ravan was created by John Ostrander and Luke McDonnell, first appearing in Suicide Squad #1 (1987).
