The Silver Twist was a mysterious object encountered by Hal Jordan.
History
According to Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern of Sector 2814, the twist's origins are unknown. It could appear anywhere, at any time, and noone knew its origin of purpose. It has been seen to have the ability to transport matter through vast distances of space. Jordan speculated that the Twist probes the subconscious minds of those it transports to create alternate realities for them.
In two occasions, this phenomenon sent Green Lantern and Green Arrow to alternate dimensions that looked similar to Earth's history. First, they arrived on a medieval world where a mad king controlled all technology and prohibited to it's inhabitants. They removed the false king from the throne and returned the technology to the people before getting back to their universe.[1] In another occasion, they were sent to a town set in the Wild West where a gang of outriders, led by a four-armed alien, frequently raided them. Green Lantern became the sheriff of that town and defeated the alien on a duel. Shortly after, they slipped through a rift between dimensions and returned to their universe.[2]
