Quote1 I only hate SPBs who use their powers to terrorize civilians, commit crimes, or try to rule over humanity. I hate whole big bunches of humans for the same reasons. Difference is, when humans do those things, they're somewhat limited in the damage they can do. Quote2

Synopsis for "Weddings & Funerals"

Santini and his team celebrates Luis Cisco getting married to his fiancée Marta. However, the team received a recall alert at HQ. After Santini reassures Cisco that everyone will meet at the wedding, the team learns that a band of superhuman robbers have attacked the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Furthermore, Ivana Baiul, Chairwoman of the Civil Defense Administration, had sent the call to Stormwatch and requested their assistance. Although Santini and Tefibi are not on very good terms with Baiul due to the attack on the U.N. and Tefibi's recent kidnapping, they obliged to help her request as the robbers have taken 216 federal employees and 36 junior high students, including the President's daughter, hostage.

The team examines the situation and assume the hostages are held somewhere deep underground. They also wonder how the robbers will get away with 200 billion dollars worth of gold. Santini decides to call in Cisco and an SPB specialist from the former Stormwatch: Flint, who is happy to be back in action. Santini lays out the plan to the team in which Flint will serve as a "bullet sponge," serving as cover for the team, as they fight their way to the elevator shaft. Due to the high number of hostages, the team must avoid civilian casualties. In a last ditch plan, the team flood the entire gold depository with an aerosolized valium gas in which they hope would not kill any hostages. The team also cannot use the Project Entry portal to infiltrate directly to the depository due to its "extreme limitations."

The team breach the building and take out the gunners. Cisco is wounded and is forced to seek medical attention from Grunier. Once the team used the elevator and reached the gold vault, they found all the gold gone and the President's daughter, Cindy, sitting on the floor with a dazed look. Flint checks on Cindy, who tells her that the robbers made her memorize a message for Stormwatch: "We were the last generation to speak to you through dialogue. Now the younger generation awakes and prepares its fists."

Everyone is left confused by the message. Then Jukko suddenly reels in pain and gravely tells everyone that something killed Blake Coleman.
