Superman Adventures #25 is an issue of the series Superman Adventures (Volume 1) with a cover date of November, 1998.
Synopsis for "(Almost) The World's Finest Team"
The Mad Hatter takes Bruce Wayne hostage and tells Batman to give up his cowl on live TV, or he will kill Wayne.
Alfred contacts Nightwing, who is too far away to help, and tells him that Robin is missing in action, presumably captured by the Hatter.
On the roof of GCPD Headquarters, Harvey Bullock and Commissioner Gordon wait for Batman, but Superman arrives instead, offering to help.
At a warehouse, Batgirl interrupts some of Hatter's goons, but is held at gunpoint. Just then, Superman bursts in but is ineffective due to Gotham having its own methods of dealing with criminals.
Superman interrogates a real estate agent to find out where the Mad Hatter is, but it proves to be futile. At that point, Batgirl realizes they didn't check the one place they would never think to look: GCPD Headquarters.
Inside, the Mad Hatter orders a mind-controlled Robin to distract Superman by firing missiles at Gotham. Meanwhile, Batgirl manages to knock the Hatter's hat off, forcing him to flee into the sewers. Superman draws him out by offering him Batman's cowl, which the Hatter starts caressing.
Later, Batman thanks Superman and acknowledges that his presence does good for the city.

- This issue employs a well-known plot device in which the alter ego of a superhero is (accidentally) kidnapped.
- Superman refers to the time he first met Batman, in the Superman (1996 TV Series) Episode: World's Finest, Part I, as well as the time he impersonated Batman, in the Superman (1996 TV Series) Episode: Knight Time.
