Synopsis for "Computer Love"

Ladytron sits and lubes her chassis while listening to Grifter, Zealot, and Warblade discussing Nemesis and Jodi's departure to Majestic's New Khera. Grifter expresses his disbelief that Nemesis and Jodi would suddenly change their minds to join Majestic and believe that they might be mind-controlled. Warblade tries to find a more rational explanation, in which he believes Nemesis is doing simply for her love to Majestic and Jodi wants a better future espoused by Majestic. Maxine becomes disgusted with what she considers a bunch of whining and "flesh-ist" prejudice coming from Zealot, and she leaves...by jumping out the window from the highest floor.

While walking through the ruins of Los Angeles, Maxine comes upon a trio of humans about to take out a welding robot and take its power source for themselves. This does not bode well with Ladytron and she rescues the robot from the humans. She learns that the robot is a member of the Church of Gort, a group strictly for robotic beings. Ladytron was a member of the Church and was denounced as a heretic after fundamentalists deemed her a "corrupting influence." The robot reassures Maxine that he is a reform Gortist who is ashamed of the Church's extremist members. Ladytron then offers to help repair the robot, but he politely declines her help and reveals that he sees no point to live; he is sad that the world's ended and he is running on limited fuel while being hunted down by humans who want to strip his parts. The robot also reveals that there are other robots like him who are hiding in the sewers. Interested, Ladytron asks the robot to take her to their hiding place and spread her brand of hope.

She finds robots from all walks of life and functionality. But they are all convinced that with the end of the world, their end has come as well. But Ladytron tries to rally them together and convince them that it is not the end, but the beginning for them; they do not have to be slaves to their programming and can redefine themselves to be a "Mechano-American." After learning that the robots are programmed from harming humans, Ladytron sees another solution for them: they can help against the non-human Daemonites who have recently set up camp in the city.

Meanwhile, a group of Daemonites violate their treaty with the Wildcats by attacking the same humans who attacked the welding robot earlier. But Ladytron and her robot friends come to the aid of the humans. The Daemonites are forced into retreat and Ladytron celebrates her victory with the others. She then declares to the humans that both they and the robots need each other to survive in this new world. Maxine's declaration works, as the humans receive help, protection and comfort from the robots in return the robots are given a reason to live on. The grateful welding robot repaid Maxine's help (on Maxine's suggestion) by having mechanical-intercourse in a van.

Ladytron later heads back to the Halo building to find the Wildcats scrambling into action. She asks Grifter what's going on in which he informs her that they got an emergency message from Jodi in Hawaii. She pleads to the Wildcats to be rescued from Majestic.
