The Fire Fiend was an enemy of Captain Marvel.
History
Heeter was a fire elemental who took on physical form in Tinderbox Valley, which was surrounded by forested land, oil wells and a coal mine. He was angered by the town's excellent fire prevention measures, and tried to use his touch to cause a forest fire, then to ignite an oil well. Both attempts were thwarted by Captain Marvel before any serious damage could be done, and he deducted Heeter's true nature. The villain then fled into the coal mines to try to cause an explosion, but again was stopped. Taking on physical form proved to be his downfall, as it left him vulnerable to Marvel's punches. One knocked him into a flooded tunnel, which put out his flame.

- Pyrokinesis: Heeter's touch could ignite combustible materials, and he was invulnerable to heat and flames.

- This version of the Fire Fiend, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022–2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
