Fireball was a member of the Crusaders.

Like his fellow Crusaders, Fireball was one of four comic book fans discovered at a convention and given the identity and powers of an old comic book character by the Americommando, in reality the criminal Silver Ghost, as part of a plot to destroy the Freedom Fighters. Like his fellow dupes of the Ghost, Fireball's powers seemingly faded after their battle with the Freedom Fighters ended.

Powers

  • This version of Fireball, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
  • Like the other Crusaders, Fireball was analogous to one of Marvel Comics' wartime super team, The Invaders, in this case the original Human Torch.
