Synopsis for Flash: "The Hatchet Cult"
A girl's attacked by a group of hatchet-wielding killers in Chinatown, but fortunately the Flash speeds to her rescue. He realizes it's Joan, who relates her story: she'd been plagued by headaches and went to see a specialist named Vordyce, but as she was leaving she saw the doctor being led out of the building by a party of the hatchet-wielding Orientals. Unfortunately, she tried to stop them, got in over her head and (to the Flash's disgust) doesn't remember exactly where the doctor was taken.
Later, Kong, leader of the sinister cult, tells his followers it's time for them to expand their ranks. He orders them to kidnap Vordyce to "make new members from our waiting list". Joan brings Flash to meet with a Kai Fu, who turns out to be Kong's adopted father, and tells the hero where to find him, stopping the evil mattering more than familial bonds.
Vordyce is brought to the sanctum of the sinister cult, and performs an operation that turns a white guy into a Chinese. Immediately afterward the Flash appears and hurls the cultists with such speed he embeds them headfirst in the side of their multi-armed idol. Later Joan goes to Chinatown to look into leads on the secret society, but is captured by them. Before she can be executed for her meddling, the Flash speeds to the rescue. After overwhelming the assassins, he unmasks Kong as Vordyce, who faked his kidnapping to throw suspicion off himself.
