- Hawkman: Meet Hawkwoman is reprinted in Superman #252.
- This is Shiera's second appearance in a Hawk costume; the first was in All-Star Comics #5, June/July 1941.
- Shiera, in her Hawkwoman costume, is mistaken for Hawkman, by a flock of hawks, two young lovers, a hotel desk clerk, and a small gang of thugs.
- The term "Hawkgirl" doesn't appear in this story but the term "Hawkwoman" does.
- Les Sparks: At this point in time, Guyana is known as British Guiana; the country is renamed Guyana in 1966. The story itself is full of stereotypes about South America and anthropological errors, as it was usual under the context of that age. The Dyka, Guyanese headhunters are a fictional people, depicted in appearance like African aborigenes. Headhunting was practised in historic times in parts of Oceania, South Asia and Southeast Asia, West and Central Africa, Mesoamerica, Europe, and East Asia, but not in Guyana. José Alvarado's surname, as well as his daughter's name, Juanita, are Spanish in origin, not Brazilian.
Trivia
- The Spider-Men of Mars make a cameo appearance in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Black Dossier Vol 1 1.
