Flash Comics #5 is an issue of the series Flash Comics (Volume 1) with a cover date of May, 1940.
Synopsis for "Menace of the Vandal"
Flash rescues painter Boleau from some gunmen sent to kill him by a greedy art collector known as the Vandal. The Vandal had bought several of Boleau’s pieces and intended to kill the artist to increase the value of his collection. Jay thwarts the Vandal’s scheme as well as another in which the crook tries to rob an art museum. Then Jay gathers the Vandal and his men together and captures them.
