Synopsis for Hawkman: "The Grapevine to the Sky"
A farmer finds a strange seed and plants it, causing a huge vine to grow into the sky and crush the farmer's house. Meanwhile, Hawkman's wrapped up foiling some crime, but on the flight back to Hawk Valley he and his avian companions are sucked into the sky by a powerful current, find the vine and climb it to find an entire city in the clouds. Hawkman's soon noticed by some of the locals, and even though "he fights like ten obolors", eventually Hawkman's brought down by their superior numbers and captured.
The "Great One" informs the hero that they come from Saturn, but which to live on the air-rich world of Earth, and that their soldiers will maraud unseen across Earth. Hawkman asks one of his hawk friends to retrieve something he can escape from the dungeon with, and is given a confiscated mace. After bashing his way out, the hero finds his way to the lab where the invaders' ultimate weapon is hidden: vials of deadly diseases, that Hawkman reasons are going to be used to infect the numerous birds in the city then sent to fly far and wide to carry the deadly germs to unsuspecting humans. After capturing that, Hawkman finds the central controls and sends the city flying back to Saturn (and uprooting the giant vine and carrying it with them) while he and his avian friends return to an Earth that never knew the danger it was in.
