Synopsis for the 1st Story

Flash Gordon crashed his car in the rain, near Dr. Zarkov's house. Inside, Dr. Zarkov was showing Dale Arden a rocket that landed nearby three years prior before "Jake of Insight America" (actually Flash) rang the doorbell and asked to borrow a phone. Flash recognized Dale and introduced himself to her. When Flash looked for the phone, Zarkov pointed a gun at him and forced them into his rocket. The ship launched into space before crashing on Mongo. Flash and Dale were separated from Zarkov and shortly after arriving, they were attacked by a giant worm. Dale returned to their crashed rocket and incinerated its head.

Hours later, when the suns came up, Flash and Dale found a body of water and swam. Afterwards, they returned to the worm's corpse and planned to eat it. They slept in a cave that night and after waking up, they were taken prisoner and flown to a city, where they met Ming. Flash and Dale asked Ming to send them back to Earth, but they could not afford to pay him anything, so Ming made unwanted advances towards Dale, angering Flash. As a result, Ming ordered Flash to be thrown into an arena containing a pit of boiling sludge, where he fought his and defeated his captors. Ming was impressed and congratulated him before attempting to kill him by lowering him into the pit.
