History

The Flying Graysons were a traveling family of acrobats working for Haly's Circus. They consisted of husband-and-wife team John and Mary Grayson, plus their son Dick Grayson. John and Mary were murdered by a mobster named Tony Zucco as part of an extortion threat to the circus' owner, leaving Dick orphaned. The young Grayson would be adopted as Bruce Wayne's legal ward, and eventually become Batman's side-kick Robin.[1]

Years after the original group disbanded, a new group of trapeze artists took up the name while performing at Haly's Circus, hoping to attract more audience, but one of them was a criminal and he was stopped by a grown-up Dick Grayson as Robin, clearing the name of his family's team.[2]
