Synopsis for "The Monster"

A woman named Myra Congreve is having an affair and plots to kill her husband David. She gets her lover Carl Holt to commit the murder and they dump Davids body into the swamp. The police treat it as a missing person case and Myra plays the role of a grieving wife perfectly. The case is considered closed until the couple's daughter Janet begins to ask for her father. The daughter is convinced that her father would not just get up and leave her. A year later, Myra and her lover Carl eventually return to the scene of the crime to visit a summer home. They take a ride on a row boat when it is suddenly overturned by a swamp like figure in the water. The couple falls into the water but the swamp monster takes the young girl Janet. Myra and Carl go to the police and implore them for help. A search party is formed and they eventually locate the swamp monster in the bog. They shoot at it with guns but the bullets have no effect. They eventually locate the little girl and she deliriously refers to the monster as daddy. Myra becomes convinced that the monster they encountered is really her dead husband. That night the couple hears a sound outside their cottage. They encounter the swamp monster once more but this time they set him on fire with torches. His body is burned severely but once the fire is doused, they find the remains of a human skeleton. Upon examination they notice that the skeleton bears a ring on is fingers with the initials DC (David Congreve). In the midst of the frenzy Myra confesses to the killing and is arrested by the authorities. They find that the monster was merely bringing flowers back to his daughter.

Synopsis for "They Walk by Night"

A pair of vagrants seek refuge from the snow in Lacey's Department store. They go there at the suggestion of one of the men whose name is Pete. Upon arriving at the store, they break in through a window only to find that the mannequins inside the store have come to life and are actually Vampires. The vagrant named Frankie is attacked and perishes while the other vagrant Pete escapees. Pete eventually returns to the department store only to find a dog named Spud snarling at anyone that passes by. The dog had been with Pete and Frankie when they were attacked by the vampire mannequins. It is then revealed that Pete had an intense dislike for Frankie and had deliberately lured him to Lacey’s Department store on purpose knowing that he would be killed. Pete had apparently been luring victims to the store for years.

Synopsis for "Clearance Sale"

A department store employee named Joe has a job cleaning the store early in the morning before customers arrive. He walks through the snow to arrive at the store only to find an unusual summer display inside. Joe notices that the mannequins depict a summer beach scene with a male mannequin having his arm around the female mannequin. Joe decides to fix the scene by having the male mannequin hold a clearance sale sign. Joe goes about his work but moments later notices that the sign is on the floor and the male has his arm around the female once more. Joe fixes the scene once more but the sign keep falling to the floor. Joe then threatens to throw the two mannequins into the incinerator if the sign falls once more. He is then attacked and the scene changes to a few minutes later when the store manager enters. He notes that Joe is missing and begins to wonder why he even hired him. As he looks around we notice that Joes dead body is partially covered by beach sand at the foot of the two mannequins.
