Frankenstein's Monster is an undead creature stitched together from several corpses by scientist Victor Frankenstein. He is colloquially called simply "Frankenstein." Eventually he became a government agent, smiting down supernatural threats with his flaming sword and flintlock pistol. He has been a member of S.H.A.D.E., the Seven Soldiers of Victory, and the Creature Commandos.
Frankenstein's Monster was created by Mary Shelley in her 1818 novel Frankenstein, then introduced to the DC Universe by Edmond Hamilton and Bob Kane in Detective Comics #135 (1948). The modern DC incarnation of Frankenstein first appeared in Seven Soldiers: Frankenstein #1 (2005), by Grant Morrison and Doug Mahnke.
