Synopsis for "War of the Monsters, Part 2: The Dissection of Nina Mazursky"
Upon finding the old woman and the children underneath the church, Frankenstein and the Creature Commandos are mistaken by the old woman for the creatures and reveals to them that she and the townspeople have been in a sort of pact with the creatures by offering them children for untold years. Frankenstein promptly punches the old woman and calls for Father Time to evacuate the children.
Frankenstein and the Commandos are then informed by Father Time that Ray Palmer has found the source of the invasion coming from a portal beneath Bone Lake, which leads to a pocket dimension dubbed "Dead Space". Frankenstein and the Commandos arrives at Bone Lake where Velcoro, Griffith, and Khalis establish a firewall in keeping the creatures contained, while Frankenstein and Nina Mazursky dive into the lake to find the portal. Frankenstein and Nina are startled to find the skeletons and remains of thousands of children that had been sacrificed at the bottom of the lake. They eventually find the portal and start fighting three separate strains of the creatures. After dispatching the creatures, one of the creature's brain is taken to be examined by Nina's S.O.M.B.I.E. which processes the brain's information. They learn from the given information that the monsters they encountered are actually scouts that were sent to find new suitable planets ripe for conquering, and the portal was their outpost as a staging area for an invasion hundreds years in the making. The local people ascribed misplaced religious meaning to the portal and the creatures, leading to a tradition of child sacrifices much to the amusement of the creatures. The creatures' planet was dying, thus giving a new urgency to the invasion of Earth. The Bride discovered the portal and attempted to stop the invasion, but was overpowered and dragged through to Dead Space, and the invasion has only begun.
Frankenstein and the Commandos return to the Ant Farm where S.H.A.D.E. decide to take the fight to the creatures' planet. They board the Egg, a specially designed egg-shaped vehicle to take them safely through the portal, where they will reconnoiter the planet and then find a way to destroy it. After entering Dead Space and landing on the planet, Frankenstein and the Commandos are shocked to find the Bride battling innumerable hoards of spider-like creatures.
