Frank Berkowitz was the mayor of the city of Metropolis.[1]

During his serving as Metropolis mayor, Berkowitz seemed to like Superman since the beginning, he got Lex Luthor arrested for reckless endangerment thanks to his help,[2] and even conceived the "Superday" holiday in honor of the Man of Steel despite some pushback.[3] The choice was solidified when Superman saved Mayor Franklin from a kidnapping by the hands of Maxima.[4]

Later he ran again for mayor, competing against Collin Thornton[5]; with the help of Lex Luthor II he was re-elected thanks to his handling of the blackout crisis that hit Metropolis while Superman was absent.[6]

He was killed by a sniper working for Lex Luthor[7] and was succeeded by Buck Sackett, who is in Lex Luthor's pocket.[citation needed]
