Following the death of his entire unit at the hands of the enemy, Sgt. Rock was tasked to lead the Creature Commandos.
History
The mission was to infiltrate a medieval fortress and stop Nazi scientists from making a doomsday weapon, while bringing them alive to Lt. Shrieve. Upon his arrival, he was caught off guard by Iron Major. After fighting him for a while, it was revealed that the "doomsday weapon" was actually his resurrected squad, and the scientists were needed alive to replicate this effect on the U.S. Army. After a long battle with the zombified Easy Company, Rock gave the Creature Commandos the permission to kill Iron Major and the scientists, later burning the fortress to the ground to make sure the resurrecting technology doesn't fall to the wrong hands.

- This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the film DC Showcase: Sgt. Rock and is an adaptation of Sgt. Rock. The original character was created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert and first appeared in Our Army at War #81.
