Funnyface was an early enemy of Superman.
History
Funnyface was a failed comic artist who wished he could have sold one strip to a syndicate. He was more gifted in science and developed a way to materialize figures out of two dimensional images. He used the villains from the funny pages to commit robberies around Metropolis. A captured Lois Lane used the ray on the strips' heroes, who could help Superman defeat him.[2]
He later returned for a crime spree with the Tycoon of Crime. Superman adopted the identity of "Flying Tiger" to flush him out. After being defeated again, he learned his machine failed bringing to life his own creations, only villains other artists created. His work had no life.[1]

Notes
- Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-Two era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and no longer apply.
- The unmasked Funnyface is depicted with brown hair in Superman #19 and All-Star Squadron #64, but in Superman Family #219 he has black hair.
- All-Star Squadron #64 retells the events of Superman #19 but with the All-Star Squadron instead of Superman. Firebrand plays the part Lois had in the original story.
