Synopsis for "Last Lanterns"

Corex D'Shaar, a Planet in the Dark Sectors

John Stewart and his team, composed of several alien warriors, including two former Green Lanterns in G'nort and Salakk, are protecting the Shaar, the people of Corex D'Shaar, from an assault of the Khunds, the worshippers of the God in Red, brutal barbarians who just want to bath in blood. John and the other Lanterns are without their Rings and their powers: for some reason, the Power Battery of the Green Lantern Corps is not functioning anymore. It's already an impossible mission: they are trying to make them escape, as much as they can, before the vanguard of the Khunds arrives.

But as they already lose a lot of soldiers while holding off the younger, less experienced Khund soldiers, the vanguard approaches, and John remembers the words of his lost comrade, Kilowog: he told him to find the Lanterns who were still alive, and to discover what happened since they stepped foot in the Dark Sectors, a mistake they paid dearly.

Synopsis for "The Taking of Sector 0123"

Green Lantern's station in Sector 0123

Lyssa Drak, one of Sinestro's lieutenants, is inside the Green Lantern Corps' station of Sector 0123, to convert it into a new station for the Sinestro Corps, as the Lanterns are inactive here. Still, they detect a living being inside, and given the fact someone did maintenance on the station for all this time, it's probably a survived Lantern, powerless but still determined to protect her former station. And they are right: Jessica Cruz of Earth is the Lantern responsible for this Sector, and she will not abandon her mission, ring or no ring.

Using some traps and some weapons she had there, Jessica was able to defeat both of Lyssa's enforcer. Then, she fought against Lyssa herself, and in that moment, after holding the Yellow Lantern Lyssa brought with her to convert the station, the ring reacts to Jessica: she has the ability to instill great fear, and for that she is welcomed into the Sinestro Corps.
