G'newmann G'noggs was a highly-renowed member of the Green Lantern Corps whose esteem made it easy for his incompetent nephew G'nort to join later.

History

In time, it was discovered that G'newmann's, as well as G'nort's, rings were of Qwardian origin. As part of a plan to discredit the Green Lanterns, the Qwardians gave Anti-Oan Power Rings to the Poglachi, a species of space-clowns who acted as the Guardians of the Universe and gave the rings to imbeciles and morons. G'newmann G'noggs was one of those who earned an Anti-Oan ring, who some time later handed another ring to G'nort.

G'newmann lost his power ring when Guy Gardner confronted the Qwardians and destroyed the Anti-Oan power source, disabling all fake Qwardian rings.
