A group of "neo-human" beings banded together as the G(eno)-Men in the battle against injustice.

History

They aided the other heroes of the Multiverse in the battle against The Gentry. Later on, they reappeared with different uniforms, taking the name Zen-Men, while fighting alongside the Retaliators to protect their world from a dark matter incursion.

Notes

  • The G-Men are an homage to the X-Men of Marvel Comics.
  • Grant Morrison elaborated a little on the backstory of the G-Men in a Substack, mentioning that "they are a breed of genetically modified super-people, bred with an altruistic moral code then betrayed and abandoned by their creators – a Frankenstein race facing persecution."[2] In the same Substack, Morrison also confirmed that the Multiversity Cyclops analogue's codename was Stentor, and that his power was "deadly acoustic voice blasts". However, another Cyclops analogue was created in Flash Forward #2 in the form of Uni-Orb.
  • The Zen Men name was previously used in Grant Morrison's run on Doom Patrol, shown among the comics on display in a comics shop in Doom Patrol (Volume 2) #45, and as a comic book being read by Major Honey in Doom Patrol (Volume 2) #46. The name was also used in Countdown Presents: Lord Havok and the Extremists #5 for Dr Diehard's former X-Men-like team.
