Friendship in times of war

In the wake of the violent attacks of the German Nazi Party, a team of renowned and brilliant American scientists joined together to design a militarized android with an unlimited arsenal programmed to kill only Nazis, giving it the operational name of G.I. Robot. He was drafted to serve under the highly decorated Sergeant Franklin Rock and Easy Company, whose members showed a high level of distrust towards him, however, when G.I. saved them from a Nazi ambush, he quickly earned the respect of his comrades and they formed a close friendship during their upcoming battles, receiving the friendly nickname of "the Tin Man".[1] Over the next few years of the war, G.I. executed over three hundred Nazis[2] until the war finally ended with the American victory, leading the members of Easy Company to disband, with G.I. serving as entertainment and public figures for their service.

The army would later look for ways to give the robot another use, who would be given to numerous scientists to conduct experiments, allowing G.I. to obtain an advanced upgrade in his equipment and robotic body, although he longed for years the desire to reunite with his friends to kill Nazis once more until he was abandoned in a collectibles store. Around the 2000s, G.I. was purchased by a kind collector, whom he befriended after they began living together, but when he accompanied him to a meeting of a Neo-Nazi club, the robot, faithfully following his programming, began to execute all the members, which caused him to be imprisoned by the police and sent to the non-human inmates division of the Belle Reve Correctional Center, where he would spend years waiting for a friend to kill Nazis.[1]

Joining to the Creature Commandos to Pokolistan

In 2024, G.I. would be recruited by the Director of A.R.G.U.S. Amanda Waller to be part of the Creature Commandos, a task force made up of powerful monstrous inmates, under the leadership of General Rick Flag Sr., with the mission of being sent to the European nation of Pokolistan to protect Princess Ilana Rostovic from terrorist attacks by the evil sorceress Circe and her army of incels. As the team settled into the castle awaiting battle, G.I. formed a fast friendship with his teammate, Nina Mazursky, a shy and kind-hearted metahuman amphibian, with whom he promised to kill Nazis at some point.[2]

At night, the Commandos regrouped with Flag Sr. after learning of the escape of two of their teammates, one of whom was Nina, so they rushed to rescue them at Castle Frankenstein[3], where they found them tied up and deduced that the kidnapping was a trap to keep the castle unprotected, allowing Circe's army to invade the place in search of the princess.[1]

Killing the Nazis one last time

Upon arriving at the castle, the Commandos and the Amethyst Knights teamed up to fight the massive army while G.I. stayed away from the battle along with Nina. While reflecting on his past, G.I. received confirmation from Flag that the enemies were Nazis, much to the robot's relief, who deployed his advanced equipment to execute the army and fulfill his dream until it was unwittingly destroyed by Circe, who would end up being violently defeated by the team. Among the remains of his destroyed body, G.I.'s head was found by a grieving Nina, to whom the robot was able to say goodbye in his final moments, rejoicing that they were able to face the Nazis as friends.[1] Following the mission, A.R.G.U.S. agents recovered G.I.'s remains and rebuilt him into a colossal new body to serve in future operations of the new Creature Commandos lineup, now operating under the leadership of the Bride.[4]
