Gambol was a powerful mob boss in Gotham City.

History

He formed a brief alliance with Salvatore Maroni and the Chechen to better maintain control over their territories with Batman cracking down on their operations.

When the Joker offered his services after rescuing a major sum of their collected monetary assets, Gambol was offended by his proposal and put a bounty on the clown, dead or alive.

Two thugs eventually showed up to collect the reward money, claiming they had killed the Joker. When Gambol opened the bag to identify the body, the apparent corpse took him off guard, putting a blade in his mouth. The Joker told Gambol a version of how he got his scars, before slicing through his mouth, killing him.
