Garfield "Gar" Logan, also known as Beast Boy, is a shapeshifter member of the new Titans and an avatar of The Red.
History
Origins

Gar with his parents before his mutation.
Once a normal boy, Garfield fell ill and was hospitalized in a field hospital in the Congo. The scientist known as the Chief gave him an antidote, giving him the power to "unzip" his DNA and rearrange it allowing him to become a tiger. He later joined him and other patients of the Chief at the Doom Manor.[2]
Titans
Gar soon after befriended a young girl, Rachel Roth, and introduced her to his adoptive family.[2]

Powers
- Connection to the Red: As a young boy, Gar Logan contracted with a rare illness on Congo and was cured by a serum by Niles Caulder. This serum had the unintended effect of turning his skin (briefly) and hair green, but gave him the ability to change into any animal form. Like Buddy Baker and Mari McCabe, Gar has a unique connection with The Red; one of the natural forces of the universe.[2][4]

- Power Instability: When Gar transforms into animals he has the likelihood of losing control of his humanity, becoming more like the animal he transforms into.

- Suit: Gar has a protective red-white suit created by Bernard Fitzmartin at the S.T.A.R. Labs. The suit is stored in a gauntlet on one hand and is activated by pressing a button.[6]

- This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the television series Titans and is an adaptation of Beast Boy (Gar Logan). The original character was created by Arnold Drake and Bob Brown and first appeared in Doom Patrol #99.
