Gargantua T. Potts was an ally of Tex Thomson.
History
Gargantua met and teamed up with Tex Thomson and Bob Daley in South America, at first to bust a gang of diamond smugglers, and then on a more permanent basis.
Potts was a tall, scrawny, giant of a man, with extreme physical courage (well-concealed behind his subservient demeanor), and also a shrewd judge of character, but at the same time, his appearance was quite off-putting to many people, and his way of speaking was likewise. This led many unwary thugs and schemers to underestimate him, which worked out badly for them.
His ancestors, according to Tex Thomson, were Sengalese, and all of them were fighters. After several adventures with Tex and Bob, Gargantua left them to join the French Foreign Legion, as a cook.
