Garo is a gangster who tried to murder Wonder Woman in her secret identity, and shot Steve Trevor.
History
When the Daily Globe started a cash prize contest to guess Wonder Woman's secret identity Garo took the opportunity to start killing the women people thought to be the most likely candidates for the Amazon. When the Amazons' own secret identity as Jane Case was revealed he tried to kill her in her job as a librarian, but found that the Amazon was ready for him.
