History

Beginnings

When Ocean Master was on the verge of defeating Aquaman Garth and Kaldur'ahm intervened allowing Aquaman to triumph. Impressed by their valor Aquaman offered both of them the opportunity to be his protege. While Kaldur'ahm accepted and became Aqualad, Garth decided to stay and continue his studies of magic under Queen Mara along with Tula.

Assault on Atlantis

While Aqualad was on the surface world Garth and Tula began dating. During Black Manta's attack on Atlantis Tula was injured protecting Garth much to Kaldur's anger, when Kaldur goes to defeat Black Manta Garth elects to go with him but Kaldur declines saying his place is with Tula, but Garth goes anyway. Garth's inexperience in battle shows as he is saved by Aqualad, who tells him to get his head in the game. After defeating Black Manta Garth renews his friendship with Kaldur who has accepted his relationship with Tula.
