Synopsis for "Lindquist's Fault, Part One"

Fairchild wakes up amidst a battle between a band of teen superheroes and beings called Venals. One of the teens explains they are her protégés, Kat's Cadets, and they are defending the nearby citadel. Caitlin joins the fight and fends off an attack by the Venals' gelatinous leader, Festoon.  The last thing she remembers is Gen 13 going to Utah to visit a wealthy scientist named Karl Lindquist.  Lindquist had created an interdimensional portal and sent through it a trio of teen superhumans, Team Alpha, to explore.  Team Alpha, one of whom is Lindquist's daughter, lost contact, and he asked Gen 13 to rescue them.  Roxy comes to in an old, gothic-themed bedroom, herself costumed in a corset and fishnet stalkings.  She recalls Lindquist outfitting Gen 13 with commlink bracelets.  Grunge enters and romances her.  Rainmaker finds herself naked next to a waterfall in a tropical forest. Burnout appears and tries to flirt with her.  Elsewhere, Fairchild and her Cadets enter the citadel and are ambushed by more Venals, led this time by a twisted, cyborg version of Lynch.  As she necks with Grunge, Freefall notices a pile of dead bodies. Grunge reveals himself as a vampire and attacks her.  She flees only to run into monstrous versions of the rest of the team.  Burnout leads Rainmaker to an abandoned IO station.  While he activates the computer inside, Sarah remembers seeing Lindquist's assistant Theo transforming into a giant, insect-like creature and attacking Lynch just as Gen 13 went through the portal.  Bobby says that, according to the computer, they are in La Jolla 50 years in the future.
