Synopsis for "Cornerstone"
At the Halo Corporation, Roxy scolds Emp when he explains there is no way to restore Caitlin's powers. Elsewhere in New York, a street gang find an abandoned taxi with the driver dead and five glowing jewels in the trunk. They return to their hangout and wear the jewels around their necks. Then, one of them begins to change. In Manhattan, Bobby, Sarah, and Grunge debate Caitlin's place on the team now that she is powerless. Later, the whole team continues the discussion at the Cloud Nine club. Bobby senses a disturbance, and they track it down to find a giant alien called Cornerstone killing people. Caitlin watches from nearby as the team fights him. Just as she realizes the five jewels on his forehead may be his power source, he slams Grunge into a wall, causing it to collapse on her. Roxy and Sarah come to her aid while Bobby has the same realization. He blasts the jewels on Cornerstone's head, and the villain disappears, his essence released into the city. Fortunately, Caitlin is unhurt. The next morning, Roxy wakes up and finds a goodbye letter from Caitlin. She has quit the team and left town.
