Professional History

George Clooney is a prolific American character actor and filmmaker with many recognizable roles in several films and TV shows. After his breakout performance as Doug Ross on ER, he went on to play many iconic roles, including Seth Gecko in From Dusk Till Dawn, Ulysses McGill in O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Danny Ocean in Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve, and Ocean's Thirteen, and Mr. Fox in Fantastic Mr. Fox. He is also a director, with his most notable directorial works including Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Good Night, and Good Luck. Clooney's performance in Syriana, won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

In 1997, Clooney took the role of Batman in Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin, succeeding Val Kilmer in the role after he left after the previous film, Batman Forever. The film was a commercial disappointment and a critical travesty, and is often considered one of the worst films ever made. Clooney has apologized for Batman & Robin repeatedly in interviews, and has stated he keeps a picture of himself as Batman in his office to remind him to not take roles just for money. Years later, Clooney returned to DC cinema for a brief appearance as the DC Extended Universe's Bruce Wayne in The Flash, after the titular hero altered his timeline a second time.
