Professional History
George Miller is an award-winning Australian filmmaker with a versatile career spanning several decades. He is best known as the creator of the post-apocalyptic Mad Max franchise, beginning with the eponymous 1979 film, which was his feature film debut. He went on to direct every other film in the franchise, with Mad Max 2 and Mad Max: Fury Road having been regarded as two of the greatest action films ever made.
In 2007, Miller signed on to direct a Justice League film for Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment entitled Justice League: Mortal, but the production was delayed due to the 2007-08 Writers Guild of America strike, and then ultimately cancelled following the success of The Dark Knight so that Warner Bros. and DC could pursue other options. In 2015, in promotion for Fury Road, Miller co-wrote a series of Mad Max comics with Nico Lathouris and Mark Sexton for DC Comics' Vertigo imprint, meant to bridge the gap between Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and Fury Road.
