George Swope was an audio engineer at WKBX, who worked on the radio show of Susan LaSalle, better known as "The Siren".
History
Swope became infatuated with Susan, but she never realized his feelings for her, which caused Swope to turn into a criminal to gain her attention. He used a deadly plague to threaten Gotham during Susan's radio show, in which the costumed heroes Superman and Batman were appearing together. Superman and Batman were able to find him and stop him from carrying out this threat.

- This version of Anthrax, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–1986 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the 2022-2023 Dark Crisis event. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
