Gil Golen adopted the moniker of the Masked Mystic to operate as a criminal in Gotham City.

History

The Masked Mystic's activities attracted the attention of Gotham City's famous costumed vigilantes Batman and Robin, who investigated Gil Golen's movements. When Golen learned that Commissioner Gordon knew the secret identity of Batman, he forced the old man to reveal the truth. However, Gordon didn't actually know Batman's identity and the information he gave Golen led the criminal to his ultimate capture by Batman.
