Glyanna of P'luhnn is an alien princess and enemy of the Superman Family.

On P'luhnn, the strongest being rules. For seventeen generations, Glyanna's family reigned over their world with their power over time itself. A mysterious figure convinced Glyanna to overthrow her parents and set herself up as a tyrant, sparking a revolution from the common people who had loved her parents as just and kind rulers. She attempted to crush the revolt but even her Killamek security forces were not enough. Glyanna fled to Earth with one of the Killameks, hoping to enlist the aid of the Kryptonian known as Superman to regain her throne, believing that he was the ruler of Earth.[1][2][3]

When they reached Earth, Glyanna set an escape pod to hone in on Kryptonian DNA and faked a crash landing near a farm in California where Superman was staying, along with his wife Lois Lane and son Jon Kent. Jon came to her crash site and she pretended to be fleeing from her Killamek, attempting to destroy her ship's homing beacon. Jon destroyed it with his heat vision, revealing that he was Superman's son. The Killamek "captured" them and took them to her ship.[4]

Glyanna hoped to gain Jon's trust and use him to get his father's aid, but he revealed that Superman did not believe in the strong ruling over the weak and she realised that he would not be willing to secure her throne for her. Jon broke them out of their holding cell and destroyed the ship's navigation, causing it to crash back down to Earth.[5] They ran into another escape pod and landed on an island in the South Pacific. Jon called for his father to come and collect them but he did not appear within the time it should have taken him to reach them, and Jon said he was likely occupied elsewhere and they would need to wait. Glyanna refused to wait any further and summoned the Killamek, revealing that she had been controlling it the whole time.[1]

Glyanna took Jon hostage and returned with him to P'luhnn. She left behind a message for Superman, telling him to some to P'luhnn and crush the rebellion for her in exchange for Jon's safe return.[2] Glyanna imprisoned Jon in a lead cell and buried it and 119 identical other cells around the world to prevent Superman finding him. Superman arrived on P'luhnn and she ordered him to stop a crowd of protestors outside the palace, telling him she would kill Jon if he did not. Superman flew outside and dug a trench outside the palace with his heat vision. Meanwhile, Jon began beating rhythmically on the walls of his cell and Glyanna realised he was trying to signal his father. She drew the air out of his cell to stop him.[6]

However, Superman was able to reach Jon and free him in time. Glyanna threw a tantrum at the Supers winning and her nameless mentor ordered her to flee. Glyanna reluctantly did, setting the Killameks on the civilian population as a distraction. She managed to get away from P'luhnn in a ship, petulantly complaining that it was embarrassing to run and people would laugh at her, but the mysterious advisor told her that she would make a comeback, revealing that they had kidnapped Doombreaker to act as her weapon.[3]
