Synopsis for "Calamity"
The detective club stumble across Olive Silverlock who has just found her mother's letter; they manage to convince her to join them on their monster hunt and head to the place where Tristan was attacked. They find a tuft of hair which Colton offers to analyse in his shack. Inside the shack they discover it is wolf hair, something Pomeline takes to mean that there is a werewolf on the prowl and gives each of them a silver necklace.
Olive, however, has sneaked away to her room where she finds Katherine, Maps' roommate, rummaging in her room just as a letter with details of Olive's tuition and her mother in it but Maps distracts her from reading it fully. Olive heads to Hugo Strange for advice but he is no help and instead only sends her to go see Tristan.
Inside the lab Tristan and Olive talk but are distracted by a large werewolf Coach Humphreys bursting through the window swearing revenge against Professor Milo though Tristan manages to scare him away. The gang chase him down but Olive finds herself hearing her mother talking to her, encouraging her to burn the werewolf. Before she can Colton tranquillises the beast and they manage to restrain him.
Walking home Pomeline stops Olive and admits that she read the letter and done some research, just as she tells Olive this the ghostly apparition of Calamity appears on the theatre stage and sets the room alight.
