Synopsis for "Unresolved, Part One"

Marcus Driver receives a call that a hostage situation is occurring. Since he works in M.C.U., he is confused as to why he'd receive the call. He was in the middle of trying to get a hold of Romy Chandler.

Marcus heads to the scene and learns the kidnapper is Kenny Booker, a childhood friend of his younger brother, who had became a street bum. Marcus puts his life in danger to save the hostages by trading his capture for the release of the dozens of innocent victims.

Marcus learns Kenny has made several deranged phone calls to him in the past few months where he had left incoherent messages on his answering machine. Kenny claims he hears voices in his head and holds the shotgun to his head to commit suicide.

Romy watches TV and sees several news reports on the captive-suicide story. Kenny Booker was one of two survivors from a bombing in 96 that killed most members of the Hawks baseball team.

Lieutenant David Cornwell grills Marcus about heading into a hostage situation without telling him. Marcus asks him to allow him to look into the Hawks bombing. He says he's not sure about the voices in his head comment from Booker. Cornwell grants him approval since this case would look good for him.

Marcus heads down to check out the files with Josie MacDonald. They can't find much and decide to check out evidence. They're told the case files were last checked out by Harvey Bullock, who may still have some of the missing files. They check lost and found and find some hats and banners from the bombing. Here they see one of the hats was mad by the Mad Hatter who is known for controlling minds.

They head to Arkham Asylum to question Hatter who has been giggling since the news came on according to Arkham employees.
