Synopsis for "Half A Life, Part Two"

At headquarters, Detective Burke gives Renée Montoya a hard time about the lesbian photo posted. Montoya tells him the woman she's kissing in the picture's name is Daria and walks away.

Crispus Allen shows support for Montoya by starting to look into Lipari. Montoya requests him to drop the case. Maggie Sawyer calls Montoya into her office and tries to offer advice. After Montoya blows up about being a minority and a daughter of highly religious parents who wouldn't accept her for being a lesbian, Sawyer tells her it's a one-way door and to think about her next steps. She instructs Montoya to inform her if Esperanza or Conway contact her. On her way out of the station, Officer Lowe heckles her for being a dyke.

At Montoya's apartment, her little brother Benny Montoya stops by and says he covered for her with their parents. Renee is frustrated with hiding her lesbian relationship and tells him to stop.

Renee leaves to meet Daria in a restaurant. Renee informs her she's been outed. She says she is not sure if it was Lipari but she has a suspicion. They kiss goodbye for the night. Marty Lipari jumps out of a nearby car with a camera and asks her to be more romantic with Daria. Renee lashes out and roughs him up. She breaks his camera and film.

Marty sulks back to his apartment and is murdered upon entering.
