Synopsis for "The First Job"

Big Barda dreams of her childhood in Apokolips. The next day, she and Natasha argue about Kara. Natasha wants Barda to take Kara out whereas Barda argues a rookie will endanger the job needlessly. Kara butts in, asking cheerfully what job they are talking about. Barda gives in and fills her in. The two of them and Silver Banshee are going to raid a truck transporting spare parts to "the Garden". Kara is thrilled with the heist, but her enthusiasm is diminished when her partners say Wonder Woman is only a myth.

Big Barda, Kara and Silver Banshee ambush the truck, which is also under assault of a rival gang, the Red Hood M. C. Banshee and Barda dealt with most of the Hoods as Kara races ahead, tosses the trucker out of the front seat and gets behind the wheel. Still Red Hood leader Jason Todd forces her to leap out and seizes the truck. Jason drives into the Canyons of Clay, thinking they will not follow.

The biker trio goes after him. As they cross the borders of the Canyon, Barda tells Kara the place's history: during the dark age which turned the world into a wasteland, drying seas and burning cities to ashes, a man who had been a celebrity transmuted into something inhuman and lost everything. He walked into the Valley and merged with it. In other worlds, the place is alive; and it kills all trespassers.

Jason tries to get past Clayface's defenses, but massive rock spikes sprout from the ground and knock the truck over. Meanwhile, Kara, Barda and Banshee try to dribble past dozens of murderous clay tendrils. Clayface traps Banshee and Barda pushes Kara ahead and goes back to rescue her.

Kara makes her way to the overturned truck. Tentacles made from earth are surrounding Jason, hissing that"Skinwalkers don't belong there", and Jason is fumbling with something he has pulled out of the truck. Kara is shocked to see it is a weapon. Jason sets the solar-powered bomb off, intending to take Clayface with him. Frightened, Kara flings Jason far away and hugs the bomb, trying to contain the explosion.

The energy blast desintegrates a part of Clayface's body but it does not harm Kara. When Jason asks what she is, Kara retorts she is super... and he a suicidal idiot. Jason concedes the point and drives off.

Barda and Banshee come along to see Kara smilingly and effortlessly lift and right the knocked truck. Barda smiles approvingly. She feared for that naive, innocent girl, but she is strong. Strong enough to survive and hopefully to learn.

The trio tows the truck back to the Garage, oblivious to Wonder Woman observing them from a cliff.
