Notes

The Narrows in the comics
- The idea of the Narrows was introduced in Batman Begins as home to Arkham Asylum, replacing the other locations of the asylum over the years, Sommerset Township and Mercey Island ("Arkham Island"). Since the idea of the Narrows proved popular, it was eventually carried over into the comics.
- Following the Narrows' introduction in the comics, DC revised the original map of Gotham City by Eliot R. Brown in order to include the new location. According to the current map of Gotham City, the Narrows island is located in the Finger River, situated between Downtown and Midtown.[1][2]
- The current map of Gotham City for Prime Earth also puts Arkham Asylum back on its own separate island, which is located between the western parts of Midtown and Uptown.[2]
- In Batman Begins, the Narrows was a a CGI animation, whereas the bridges were those of the Chicago River Main Stem.
- Not to be confused with the Narrows of Bludhaven, or the Metro-Narrows Bridge.
