Gowt was a hero of the Nejire and an ally of Cave Carson.

Gowt was a Nejire, a race of people empowered by special crystals found underneath their world. The same crystals empowered their enemies, the Lazer Monks, which are in fact the same species as the Nejire, but both are corrupted by an alien monster. When this was discovered, Gowt was forced to work with her sworn enemies to kill it. She ended up marrying and having a child with Zot, a Lazer Monk she met in the battle.
