Grayven is a New God from Apokolips and one of the children of Darkseid.
History
Grayven and Steppenwolf were among the many criminals who showed up for the auction of Earth, they meant to acquire the planet in order to gift it to Darkseid upon his return but lost to The Sheperd.[1]
All-In
Later on Grayven appeared together with Kalibak, Grail, Granny Goodness, Steppenwolf and Desaad to check on Darkseid, as he has isolated himself from others for a long time to build a Miracle Machine. To get it to work, he had to feed it his blood but it was not enough. So he killed Kalibak and fed him to the machine, to the shock of Grayven and everyone present. The following events led to Darkseid's death and rebirth into his own dark universe[2]
Following Darkseid's death, Grayven was floating around a dead planet only to be picked up by Nyctari and their leader, Karok Ator, during their crusade against the New Gods. Grayven joined the Nyctari and was embued with their dark power, when New Genesis was sieged, he was appointed to oversee this world while it is scavenged. His first task was finishing off Highfather before he was interrupted by Lightray and other New Gods who took Highfather with them through a portal, leaving Lightray behind to fight off Grayven. Though Karok Ator intervened and killed Lighray.[3]
Powers and Abilities
Powers
- New God Physiology:[4] Some of the New Gods have evolved due to their close proximity to the Source, a primeval energy, believed to be one of the ultimate foundations of the Universal Expression of Energy, along with their superior technology, into beings of genetic stability and evolutionary perfection. The denizens of New Genesis are stronger, faster, and smarter than homo sapiens, despite their resemblance to the same.
- Immortality: The New Gods are functionally immortal; they cease aging physically near the age of 30. Unless they fall in battle, they are immune to the ravages of time, and could easily live for thousands upon thousands of years.
- Superhuman Strength
- Superhuman Durability
- Superhuman Stamina
- Omega Beams: After he joined the Nyctari, his Omega Beams turned black. How the beam is affected beyond the cosmetic change remains to be seen.[3]
