Synopsis for "Hard-Traveling Heroes: The Next Generation, Part Two: Desolation Again"

Green Arrow tells Green Lantern that his father talked about Desolation as one of the hotbeds of sin in America. Kyle only hopes that this is no longer the case and that he will find his dad there. And as both heroes arrive in Desolation, they are quite surprised how clean and fresh the city looks.

In a restaurant they find out that the city somehow specialized in damage compensation - starting way back when the local mining company was sued. Kyle thinks that maybe his father started a career as a lawyer after resigning from the military. Both heroes visit a police station. The responsible officer cannot find anyone named Aaron Rayner in his files, but Connor is sure that he is lying. Indeed, after they left the officer immediately called someone else to inform him that they are looking for Aaron Rayner.

Kyle still thinks a lot about how to approach his father. He does not think that Connor's advices from personal experience are that helpful and therefore a little tension is growing between them. But for now, both heroes get into their costumes to look for some action. But it does not take long and they attract interest from the police. Kyle does not want to tell them why they are visiting Desolation and so the officers decide to arrest them both. Green Lantern and Green Arrow flee from the scene, although Connor would have preferred to cooperate with the police. Suddenly the are attacked by a guy in a colorful armor who calls himself Hatchet. With the police joining the fight it does not get easier for the two heroes, but in the end they are able to defeat Hatchet. As Green Lantern turns around, a man approaches him and Kyle immediately recognizes his father...
