"Blood of the Dragon, Part 2: Hikiwake": Shado explains that Oliver Queen was tricked into coming to Japan as part of a larger plan by whoever is manipulating her. Regardless, Oliver decides to help her find

Quote1 I'm not kidding myself. I know the reality of the situation. The reality is that people like me don't have children. We are children. Dressed up and playing cowboys and Indians with real bullets and real arrows. But there's a part of me that really wants to believe I'd give it all up -- just to be a father. Quote2

That evening, Oliver helps Shado to remember things about the place that she was taken. She remembers a helicopter, bells and eagles, suggesting a fortress in the mountains near a monastery. Together, they spend the next day pinpointing and getting to just such a place. They scale the cliffs to the fortress and kill the guards, then breaking into the fortress, killing several more Yakuza agents.

As Shado is about to kill the last Yakuza agent, Oliver stops her, telling her that they need him alive. She agrees, but the Yakuza agent plunges Shado's knife into his own chest, killing himself. Oliver is at a loss, but Shado states that she will do whatever she must to get her son back.
