Green Arrow (Volume 2) #80 is an issue of the series Green Arrow (Volume 2) with a cover date of November, 1993.
Synopsis for "New Dogs Old Tricks Part 2"
Central Intelligence Agency agents plan to take out Eddie Fyers, who is hiding out on a boat in King County, Washington. Meanwhile, Green Arrow already has the drop on Fyers. Oliver believes that Fyers might be responsible for firing the arrow that killed Gerhardt Lachner in Idaho, making Oliver a wanted man by the CIA. Eddie responds that since being a mercenary is his profession, who someone would have had to pay him to do it.
Fyers eliminates each of the potential employers that might have had him kill Lachner, and pin it on Oliver. As they argue, Oliver avoids the CIA's gunfire while forcing Fyers to defend himself against them. When Oliver is more or less convinced that Fyers didn't fire the arrow, he begins to help take out the agents, finally capturing one of them in a fishing net.
Oliver and Eddie begin dunking the agent in the water, torturing him until he reveals who wants them dead and why. Ultimately, the agent agrees to give up all of the information that would clear Eddie and Oliver of the charges against them on video. He explains how the CIA is implicated in the recent terrorist attack on the Rose Bowl, and how Oliver and Eddie were working for the Mossad, hoping to bring Lachner to justice. Oliver shows the tape to Sheriff Ned Mannix, hoping that he'll leave him alone. Unfortunately, Mannix simply dislikes vigilantism, and doesn't care one way or the other what the CIA's story was. As Oliver leaves, he allows some hoods to slash Mannix's tires, claiming that it's not his job to do anything about it.
Back in Seattle, Oliver passes by the Sherwood Florist, but understands that he's not welcome there anymore. Instead, he returns to his underground hideout, where he is surprised to find Marianne waiting for him. She has waited there for him for weeks. Despite the fact that he has feelings for her, Oliver refuses to start a relationship with her, because he truly loves Dinah Lance. He admits that the time that he and Marianne made love was something he will cherish, but that it will have to be the last time. She leaves, sadly, warning him that if he holds out for Dinah, he will end up a lonely old man.
Without Dinah and without Marianne, Oliver finds himself completely alone in the dark.
