The people I care about are all right... and that's magic enough for me.

Green Lantern/Sentinel: Heart of Darkness #3 is an issue of the series Green Lantern/Sentinel: Heart of Darkness (Volume 1) with a cover date of May, 1998.
Synopsis for "Father's Day"
Kyle Rayner and Jade have to deal with the personification of the Starheart while Alan Scott, now a weak, aged man, is dying. The Starheart and Obsidian (still possessed) taunt Jade to join their side and embrace their power, but Kyle interferes and fights the Starheart, trying to repeat what the Guardians did ages ago to contain its chaos magic. But the Starheart is too strong for Kyle, and it threatens to kill the last symbol of the Guardians' order in its fixation to plunge the universe back into chaos. Suddenly, Jade makes a deal with the Starheart: giving herself up to save Kyle and Alan. Kyle urges her not to make that sacrifice, but Jade kisses and reassures him that she'll be all right.
The Starheart passes its powers on to Jade, who grows incredibly stronger and gets a new costume. However, Jade uses her new powers to fight the Starheart. The fight causes Jade to become pure chaos magic, merging with the Starheart. In a last desperate attempt, Kyle acts as an anchor and reaches out to Jenny in the middle of the chaos.
After a flash of green light, Kyle, Jade, Alan, and Todd return to the real world. Jade, however, loses all of her powers to restore Alan's youth and powers to some extent and free Obsidian from the Starheart's corruption. Kyle tries to comfort Jade, but she finds reassurance knowing that the people she loves, including Kyle, are safe.
