Synopsis for "Fractured Spectrum"
At the Library of Forever, a green-skinned creature attempts to reorganize the bookshelves until he is ambushed by Nathan Broome, the Sorrow Lantern. He is looking for a glass that will allow him to read the Book of Oa.
Meanwhile, in another part of the universe, Hal is eating a sandwich until he gets a message from John, who informs him that their job at Oa is almost complete. Hal returns to Oa and finds his fellow Green Lanterns finishing the move of Earth's Power Battery to Oa, with help from Jadestone, Ellie and Keli. Once the battery is connected to Oa's power grid, the planet lights up. Jadestone voices his concerns of moving the battery to a location unguarded by the Green, but Hal says that with Jadestone protecting the battery, they have nothing to worry about.
The Green Lanterns attend to a ceremony led by Jessica, who says that with the United Planets and other Lantern Corps weakened, the Green Lantern Corps will have to work even harder to maintain order throughout the universe. With the emotional spectrum becoming unstable, new powers have emerged and the Green Lanterns will work to contain them before they are misused. In that moment, Guy breaks through a wall, under attack by Nathan, who has started his invasion of Oa. The other GLs intervene and Nathan escapes with a book carrying the symbol of the Green Lantern Corps. He has taken the Book of Oa.
Guy takes his friends to his room, which is littered with images and excerpts from the Book of Oa. He explains that the previous generation of Guardians of the Universe had probably rewritten the Book of Oa multiple times, so he decided to keep an archive of the book's editions. Before, he didn't have the actual book, so he had consulted the Library of Forever, but his research became easier when the Guardians disappeared and Guy stole the book from Thaaros' chambers. When he read the book, Guy found information about an object called the Eye of Krona. Guy explains that the Eye is a special glass that allows the user to read the book in six other ways, for the book was written in the other six colors of the spectrum, as well.
The Guardians believe that the only reason for Nathan to seek the Eye of Krona is because he wants information on how to build his own power battery. Aware of the kind of danger a Sorrow Lantern Power Battery could pose to the universe, the Green Lanterns resolve to stop Nathan.
