Green Lantern Annual (Volume 3) #4 is an issue of the series Green Lantern Annual (Volume 3) with a cover date of October, 1995.

Synopsis for "Shared Lives"

Hal Jordan returns and steals Alan Scott's power battery from his study. He then does the same at the Warriors bar with Guy Gardner's battery. Hal takes both batteries to the abandoned Ferris Aircraft facilities and recharges his power. However, Kyle Rayner is also charging up simultaneously, and it causes them to swap bodies and relive each other's life.

Kyle finds himself wearing Hal's costume and fighting one of Green Lantern's earliest villains, the Invisible Destroyer. After dealing with the Destroyer, Kyle wills his ring to fly him towards Hal's battery in Ferris Aircraft. He meets Pieface and Carol Ferris, who treat him as if they knew him. Kyle finds the battery in "his" locker. Right afterward, the projection of a Guardian appears before him, ordering Kyle to avert a cosmic crisis. Kyle disobeys the order and snuffs the Guardian, continuing to resolve his crisis.

Similarly, Hal wakes up wearing Kyle's suit on a date with his girlfriend Alex. After an awkward moment with Alex, Hal escapes from her apartment. After thinking things through, Hal starts to contemplate the idea of embracing his new life, so he returns to Alex's apartment, where he finds Major Force choking her. Hal fights the maniac and saves Alex. Afterward, Hal takes a piece of green metal Major Force brought, and it turns into a power battery. However, Hal starts to feel he should embrace his new life and be the hero again.

Just like before, unbeknownst to each other, both Hal and Kyle charge their ring simultaneously, which brings them back to their lives.

Hal and Kyle meet at Alex's grave and then part ways, not without warning each other what would happen if they met again.
